Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth movie in the long-running Resident Evil series, opens in Houston and nationwide on Friday. The studio has released an entertaining and fast-moving video recap to catch you up, just in case you’ve missed some of the earlier movies.

Presented through the eyes of the series’ main character, Alice, played by Milla Jovovich,  the video feature recaps the entire 10-year sci-fi/zombie/action series, showing clips from each movie.

At the beginning of the first Resident Evil movie, Alice was an employee of a large corporation that created a virus that turned nearly all of its employees and then the entire city into zombies. Only Alice was immune to the virus. As the virus spread across the globe, the Umbrella Corporation’s experiments on Alice made her super human, a superheroine who led the battle against the  corporation.

“For years,” she begins, “I’ve been at war with the Umbrella Corporation. And now they’re more powerful than ever. My name is Alice, and this is my story.”

The video ends with pretty thrilling footage from Resident Evil: Retribution which, according to the official synopsis, culminates in a revelation that forces her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true.

In addition to Jovovich, Resident Evil: Retribution stars Michelle Rodriguez, Boris Kodjoe and Li Bingbing.
