If you’re an actor, how do you follow up starring in (and growing up in) a much-loved series of movie blockbusters that will forever lock you in the minds of millions as a single Quidditch-playing, wand-twirling character?
If you’re Daniel Radcliffe (a.k.a. Harry Potter) you make TV appearances on comedy and talk shows in hopes that will help cleanse audience palettes. Then you star in a movie that is different enough from Harry Potter movies to help you escape typecasting but similar enough (thanks to supernatural elements) so that Potter fans might think it worth a look.
Radcliffe stars next in The Woman in Black, a ghost tale in which he plays Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who must spend an extended time working alone in the isolated house of a deceased client.
From the official synopsis:
Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.
